Yes! It’s been a while and I’m sorry! I need more comments and followers for inspiration to write everyday…..and some extra time on my hands too, so I can have time to update my blog too wouldn’t hurt lol.

ANYWHOO! Yes! Nevaeh is reading now! I’m sooo proud of her, she loves her alphabet and numbers too! One day I was on insta gram and you know the people who post literature instead of pics yea them… As I was looking through some she read a post that said “hi!” In bold letters and she said with such excitement “hi” as she pointed at the pic! I’m was trilled so you know the ” Baby Can Read” &”Your Baby Can Speak Spanish” are coming in handy! Not to mention the apps on my phone, OPPS I MEAN “OUR PHONE” she stays on ” Baby Balloon School” and the sign language apps are the best. She absorbing it all! I’m loving every minute of it and every second of the praises she gets from others saying how smart she is! I am blessed with a smart fast moving baby! I’m grateful about that. So now I’m looking for more learning tools. You’d be surprised to know that even the dollar store has great learning tools for the kids blocks, foam letters and numbers etc. Nevaeh is only one now so I’m hoping by two shell be directing her own movies n playing the piano lol. Did I mention she already plays the piano every chance she gets! Saving up for those lessons now! ☺ #proudmommypost

Daughters are usually Daddy's little girls, but my Nevaeh is straight up Mommy's girl!! She adores me and its so freeing to be loved like that! She's just like me, a little me!! I feel like I can start over and redo any mistakes I have done. She’s her own person at the same time, so much better than me, so I guess she’s me deluxe version lol. She deserves the best! I know I haven’t made my marital status clear, but I'm a single parent and sometimes it gets hard. Most of the time everything I need to do to take care of her comes natural, as far as the extras that is where it gets hard.

I want to get Nevaeh into programs so she can play with other kids her age, she loves that. I also want her to keep up with her interest, she loves the pool, I can’t swim lol so I want her to have swimming lessons, get her enrolled in the Little Gym that’s near me, take her to events or the bubble show that’s taking place in NYC however, Mommy's budget has decreased since my sales in my company has also. So now I’m looking for work I’m also afraid to lose more time that I spend with her, and I would hate to give half or my whole check away for babysitting fees :( but I have to do something she is getting bigger every day and she needs to see and do new things.

So that’s the foundation of my slight depression. I have been working on things I can control tho, Like my diet watching what I eat and I'm in the gym everyday if not I'm doing my workouts at home taking jogs around my sidewalk-less neighborhood lol. So far I lost tens pounds and I’m truly happy about it! What really made me want to commit to this change was the fact that I wasn't happy and I decided to change all things that didn’t make me happy that I had control over, to make myself happy! Eating better and working out is one. I also want Nevaeh to know that being in shape is a part of live and my best bet is being the example : ) I'm working on dropping another ten pounds before the end of this month lol. Mmmmm  maybe by the early middle of next month lol.

Speaking of daughters, there’s  a song call "Daughters" by Nas its a hip hop song that I just love! He speaks about his relationship and experience with his daughter Destiny and I really think father's around the world could relate to this song, and others it may wake something up inside of them to become better fathers to their daughters. I would like to start a little giveaway: All fathers who have daughters (everyone should  ) take a listen to the song and leave  a comment under this post about how you feel about it! Let me know if you relate or share your knowledge and your own experiences with your daughter(s) that’s truly remarkable to you. You will automatically be entered to win this great book by: WonderDads “ ABC’S  For Dads & Daughters” !!! A necklace set for your Lil Gem and a copy of Nas newest album “Life is Good” !!!!

Am I the only one who wish there was a pause button you could press just for a little while and freeze your baby, to take a second , even to breathe, or TO THINK lol.

Freezing my love would be perfect because I don't want to miss a thing but, Mama has things to do. I've been working on some projects with my jewelry line making new designs, planning parties and making custom made special orders.
I'm taking paralegal classes,a bunch of projects and hobbies I just would live to get back to.

I love my baby girl so much she's the best thing that ever happened to me,sometimes I just need to take a moment and tend to my other responsibilities, and it's so hard to work on my business, keep up on my studies, cook, clean etc and give my girl the attention she needs that she deserves, and at the same time save room for your needs and your wants.

Being a mom is work, hard work, and it's the best job I ever had, but sometimes I wish there was a pause Button.

To all my single mothers out there! Single mothers can be married women too. If your doing 90% of raising the kids guess what your a single mother. Sorry to burst your bubble but! Anywho we woman must love and take care of ourselves first! If you don't you will be unhappy and raise your children to be unhappy adults as well, and I know none of us want that.
So get to know and love yourself know your weakness and your strength. Acknowledge when you need help and ask for it, know when you need a break or time to yourself and take it! If you don't you may end up taking out all your frustrations on your beautiful blessings from Jesus 🙏 your babies!! (for those that it went over your head).
Most of us mothers are short order cooks, tutors, maids, business women, bakers, and if you have a man in your like bedroom entertainers and all these hats you wear maybe worn all in one day. So please believe you deserve some praise and if the people around you are too busy to give you around of applause don't wait for them to, pat yourself on the back and keep up the good work.

Give yourself a facial , if you can't afford to always go to the spa, disk your feet give yourself a pedi or just take a nice long bath, leave your kids with someone with sense so you can relax and not worry about them. WHATEVER YOU DO JUST DO YOU!!!

Be a living example!
The person you are will have an effect on your children. If your the type of parent to eat healthy and take runs around the block daily, usually your child or children will take that into their own lives.
If you read lots of books, say your prayers before you eat and before bed, go to the museum, take piano lessons and practice yoga these actives in your life become routine in your child's life and they are more than likely to repeat your activity and/or have their own activities. The main thing is to remain proactive and your children will be too.
Just like if you had bad habits that alter your lifestyle and the people around you or dead weight that would only just hold you back. Exposing your children to these things more than liking they will attract or be attracted to these same things in life. If you want the best for your kids you must want the best for yourself.
Be an example and set the bar high for yourself and your children should follow after.
I recently have been going to the gym with my friend Pinky, lol she hates that name lol anywho we plan on going twice a week and I'm excited to drop this weight and start picking up my size 10 pants again! I want Nevaeh to stay in shape and healthy so I have to start with me.
I also recent just got rid of some dead weight and It was long overdue. I feel things should be picking up from now on in my life as a whole. Everything feels like I'm finally on the right track. Once I'm doing what I got to do to have my business in order the sooner it will all become a routine for Nevaeh and I.
Alrighty then see you guys later !

My day was great. I did everything I wanted. Organized my everything, I'm kinda still in the process of it but it was a big job and I'm almost done. Redecorating my room and I made exactly what I wanted to eat.
I got all these cool organizers and plastic totes and I'm storing all my winter stuff away today and winter shoes. I'm organizing my jewelry supplies and tools, washing and folding clothes. It's sad I get happy when things are clean and organized, my mind feels like its getting organized as well. I am so busy and when everything is everywhere so is my mind 😖 But I'm ending all that today.
Due to the new found space in my room I'm setting up some of the decorative wall mirror stickers and pictures just having a ball with it all. I love decorating a room.
For lunch I made, Crab Legs seasoned the with butter red wine and black pepper sea salt on the side with Tune Salad made with shrimp, and crab and lobster meat. It was so good I passed out for about two hours.
When I woke up I took the shower of my life with all these great products I got from Bed Bath & Beyond and Mary Kay. Face scrub, body scrubs, coco butter oil, I do this routine everyday, it's work but it feels so good once your all done. After my 2 hour shower, I hopped in the car and went to Legal Seafood it was delicious. I had crab cakes, shrimp and salmon.
Now with my skin dancing and belly full there is nothing but smiles on my face. I loved the day with my lady love bugs Nevaeh she's the best. I'm so proud to be her mom she gets smarter and more mature everyday. She loves me so much it's the best. #happymothersday to you all I hoped you enjoyed the day as much as I did.😘

Are You Ready To Stop Breastfeeding?

To wean from breastfeeding or not to wean yet? This is the question that most mothers want an answer to. Unfortunately, I or any other article you’ve read on weaning or how to wean on breastfeeding can only guide you in deciding. So as a “guide”, I’ve divided breastfeeding pros and cons for every woman who is confused as to what they should do about it.

Let’s start with the pros:

-          Breast milk has a perfect balance of nutrients (with disease fighting antibodies, hormones and enzymes that promote growth and development, offers protection against some diseases and allergies) and is easy to digest – perfect for a newly-developing baby.

-          The infant (not the mother) decides when to stop breastfeeding. If he stops, he’s already full … no worries that he’ll be bloated or obese since (as we said) breast milk is easily digested.

-          Babies who were breastfed for at least 6 months are unaffected by disease and infection in the early stages of life compared to formula-fed kids.

-          A mother doesn’t have to buy plastic/glass bottles or nipples.

-          It doesn’t matter what the temperature is – it’s always perfect.

-          The milk is readily available as long as the mother is too.

-          Economically. Breast milk is free. So the money you should use for milk can be used for other things like diapers.

-          The best part about breastfeeding: It cements a unique bond that only a mother and a child can have.

And here are the cons:

-          Should you decide to bottle-feed, formula is not as effective as breast milk, and oftentimes, nutritional value depends on proper preparation.

-          Some nutrients from formula milk are not easily digestible and therefore, if not mixed properly, may cause babies to have tummy problems ranging from mild to severe.

-          The pediatrician determines the amount of formula milk to be given to the infant – no more, no less even if the baby still cries his lungs out due to hunger pangs.

-          Formula milk is usually costly.

-          Mothers need not buy nursing pads or nursing bras.

-          Formula milk needs to be warm.

-          Bottle-feeding gives everyone the opportunity to feed the baby.

-          If you’re taking medications, then you cannot breastfeed as you might inadvertently transfer the drug (and its effect) to your baby.

-          Extended breastfeeding is not normal when a child of 2 to 3 years of age still does it. It becomes an unhealthy obsession, and both mother and child will have a hard time transitioning.

Should you decide to wean, breastfeeding (especially for babies below 6 months) should still be considered an option. However, if things can’t be helped and you really have to stop due to medical reasons or otherwise, consult your doctor as to the proper formula and diet you need to give your child.

YAY!! For Spring!!! its finally here! Eventho we had samples of it here and there, its officially here. So I say we should ALL be outdoors more and being active. Nevaeh is getting more comfortable with walking by herself, but I can tell she is affraid to fall, so she looks for assistance from time to time. I'm no help, I spoil her I always have her in my arms and I will keep doing it for as long as I can! Anywho, we took advantage of the nice weather and we been outside taking walks and laughing at every and anything lol. Thats my girl!

We been having a ball, my birthday recently passed and we took a mini road trip to the MD VA area. I had a good time, I got to see people I care about that I haven't seen in a while and I met new people. It was a good time, I especially loved the fact Nevaeh got to play with her cousins and she just had a great time. I didn't take pictures idk what I was thinking, but that was the downfall of the trip, no pics. BUT! there will be more trips and more pics to come I PROMISE!! especially since, I've been taking this weight loss so much more serious! I'm feeling better, on my way to looking better. We have plans to go to California this year, and maybe even somewhere you need a passport so, we will def be taking pictures.

Below are pictures from my birthday before we hit the road. I got my make up done it was HOT! I loved it, it was my first real try at wearing it, I think I'm hooked, but I'm not sure, its a lot of work, time and MONEY! Because I cannot do it myself.....yet! lol The girl who did it, did a great job and she was real nice. And it was cool too cus all I had to do was buy $50 worth of make-up at MAC, real hot.

Then later on in the evening we went to Legal Seafood, it was sooooooo goood, OMG I had Crab Cake that was just the best, huge pieces of crab meat, scallops and some shrimp very good! I have to go back.

I'm so glad Spring is here!! More working out, more seafood lol , more sandals, more mani and pedis more road trips, more just having fun and enjoying my baby love and the weather. ::Kisses::

All About Bottlefeeding: Bottles

It is important to familiarize yourself and become an expert on bottles and bottlefeeding because they play a big role in weaning your child. There is plenty to learn about bottles, but the most important thing to keep in mind is that bottles need changing. The type of bottle you use and the type of teat you use should be changed as your child gets older.

You will need at least six bottles. Newborn babies feed about six times a day, so you need to have the same number of bottles for the same number of feedings. If you are expressing or pumping breast milk and storing it, you will need more bottles (twelve is a good number because it is double the number of feedings) In this case of storing breast milk, glass bottles are preferable.

Apart from the milk bottles, you may want to consider having two extra bottles, one for juice and one for water. It is just safer to separate the types of liquids you put in your bottles. It makes it easier to clean, and you're assured none of them will have a funny taste when it comes to feeding your baby. This will probably come later in infancy (around the 8th or 9th month) since it is advised that babies do not drink juice till they are older.

Standard baby bottles come in two sizes, 120mL and 225mL. It's a good idea to have three of each kind (assuming the six bottle minimum.) Be sure to measure your baby's liquid in a separate container, not in the bottle. 225mL is too much for a baby till they are about a year old so never fill a bottle to the top and be sure to measure it with a glass measuring cup. The Pyrex ones are the best kind.

Baby bottles also vary in terms of the width of the bottle. There are wide neck bottles, which are easier to clean and are less messy when putting formula in. They also help make sure babies don't suck in too much air. There are regular bottles, which are the easiest to find teats for and are the size that fit in standard coolers and sterilizers. There are narrow neck bottles, which are the easiest for a baby to learn to feed themselves because these bottles are the easiest for a baby to hold. Finally, there are anti-colic bottles, which work under the premise that colic is caused by babies taking in too much air while feeding. Anti-colic bottles are designed to reduce air intake of the baby. If your baby seems unsettled after feedings or is gassy, you can try using an anti-colic bottle to see if it helps.

Just as important as your baby bottles are you teats. There are slow flowing teats designed for newborns, and there are quicker flowing teats which older babies are more comfortable with. You can tell that milk flow is too fast if your baby chokes or leaks milk out of the side of their mouth. As your baby becomes used to sucking and learn show to control their own milk flow, you can change their teat so that they get more milk. However, the best type of teat will depend on the type of milk you're serving (some are thicket than others) and your baby's teat preference. Keep in mind that teats deteriorate so always on your teats.

ONE & DONE..OR 1 1/2 OR 2?

Breast feeding is a great gift from God, How sweet it is to have your own custom maded drink, just for you? That's better than any leading brand of milk, because of all the benefits that come with it, the nutrients, the bonding, its priceless.

Now that we are clear on where I stand on the gift of milk and that I'm on team breastfeeding however, My love is now 1yrs old, has 6 teeth, learning to walk, trying to talk, she has her own personality and interest and knows what she wants. I think its time for strictly Sippy cups!

In a few weeks she'll be 1 yrs old & 3 months, and Nevaeh is still very, Team Breastfeeding, and I'm over it. Yes, of course I will miss my little baby needing her mommy but! she's about half my size and just as smart (thanx to breastmilk) but, I had enough!

Sometimes I feel bad for rejectibg her and I end up nursing her, because she doesn't understand why I'm not allowing her to have what she knows as rightfully hers. I must find away to get this weaning process started as soon as possible, something both of us can live with.

I'm so glad this book by Wendi Blaire came to me its called "Hello Milk, Bye Bye Milk: An Expert Mom's Ultimate Guide to Breastfeeding and Weaning.

So let the reading and weaning begin!

Yes! leave it to me to post anything about Nevaeh's birthday almost a month later. You know how caught up us, Mommies get. Nevertheless, the party was great and I do have some pictures to share. Nevaeh and I arrived late, and I didn't have time to do my hair, so it looked a little like, well you will see lol. It was a lot of fun planning this party. The theme was The Care Bears, and that isn't something you know you will just find when you go to the store, like Disney stuff or Spounge Bob or something , so the online searching was fun. Spending and saving was fun. Getting her pictures and finding the perfect dress was fun. I had a blast baking cupcakes and cookies, I made bout 5 dozen, fun time fun time. Here are a few pictures, but! You can view more At Pacifiers & Lip Gloss Tumblr also check out the twitter page @PacisNLipgloss for fun, daily parenting tips, laughs, pictures and more!

Organic: If you're a parent or you're expecting, this word likely passes your lips regularly. It describes produce that is grown without potentially harmful pesticides. Sure, many experts insist such chemicals are safe. But with a baby in the house or on the way, you're probably more vigilant about what goes into your body and your child's, and with good reason

Organic milk can cost about 50 percent more than conventional milk costs.  Conventional milk contains antibiotics and artificial hormones, as well as pesticides. Experts worry that all these hormones could kick-start early pubery, considering how much milk kids drink on a daily basis. Organic milk contains significantly higher levels of heart-healthy fatty acids and antioxidants.

The EWG also found that 81 percent of potatoes still contained pesticides after being washed and peeled. Kids take in plenty of spuds as french fries -- another reason to limit their consumption. Adults, too, love the taters: According to one survey, they account for 30 percent of all veggies eaten by adults.
If PB&J sandwiches are a lunchtime favorite with your kids, it may be time to try an organic spread. "The pesticides used on peanuts are found to be especially toxic.

Try to pick out you and your baby or babies clothes for the week. Don't wait to the day of to look for the perfect outfit! You have enough hard work and pressure to deal with for the day.
Buy gifts when you see them! Have you ever noticed that the parties and celebrations never stop? Sometimes you will have a birthday party, a baby shower, and a christening to go to all in one week. Instead of going out each time stock up on one size fits all types of gifts on sale to have handy.
You have TV shows that you must see? Theres no reason you should sit through the commercials, while they are on, try to get small task out of the way, like sorting mail, restocking your diaper bin, clipping the baby's nails, etc. Or if your lucky enough to have your shows recorded you can save time by fasting forward through commercials for more time after your show, there's like 15mins of commericals the least!
STOP competeing with Martha! For those PTA meeting or celebrations at school or parties, your cookies do not have to be made from scratch. The frozen ones you can just pop in the oven, are just fine and tasty. My favorite thing to do, is layer my cooking pans with foil so thats less I have to scrub and less damage on my nails lol.
Stay organized, never touch a piece of mail twice. Once you get it, review it decided if its garbage or not, tear the parts with your information on it that you dont need off  and the mail you do need place them in order in a file, same with your emails if you dont need it delete it when you seen it. Its soo much better that way.
Dont get caught up trying to please everyone and becoming a short order cook. Plan out what will be fast and easy for you to cook for the week, and thats what it will be. When packing lunch making one BPJ sandwich and one turkey and one ham, will not leave you with all the time in the world. Becoming a short order cook will only have you extra sleepy, stressed and fat, because you will end up eatting late. No bueno!
Take all the help you can get. If its a babysitter, Grandma, your sister, your brother, or even the oldest child, take all the help you can  get. No one should sit with idle hands, have some one sweep and straighten up for you before you get home from work, if you have someone who knows their way around the kitchen ask them to clean and season dinner for you. LIKE I SAID, TAKE ALL THE HELP YOU CAN GET!
Join the car pool, I know its hard to trust your child with just and driver, however it is important to get to know who you can trust with your child's life. If you do end up with all the driving, you will end up living in your car and trying to figure out how much time you have left to cook, clean, do homework, take care of your kids, socialize or have time for yourself.

PLEASE,  don't feel guilty for keeping your baby germ free and healthy! Simply say, "did you wash your hands?" "Oh, here's a wipe, "I have some hand sanitizer, want some?" Everyone loves to sanitize their hands, everytime you see or walk by some, your just eager to just run there real quick and get that cool gel just wiping away all of your sins lol. Or is that just me? I love them, I always keep some in my bag along with the pacifier and lip gloss lol.

Seriously, dont be afraid to offend anyone by making sure they washed their hands. Babies need to be protected from germs and bacteria, and since they can't talk we must speak up for them. "Please go wash your hands" Most people respond "my hands are clean" try not to burn them with the fire in your eyes, just simply say please and thank you. Some people are just so excited when they see your cutie pie, that they just completely forget how possible it is for someone to have dirty hands. Some people think they are always clean and can't attract germs or spread them! Or maybe those silly people are so dumb and dirty that, they can't tell that they are, dirty and dumb. Scratching your eyes, your head, rubbing your nose, touching a door knob, picking your teeth, everything can have germs landing on your hands. Which is why people shouldn't hold and touch on a baby's hands, babies always put their hands in their mouths, so its important to stress that. I know it can get annoying to keep repeating the same thing over, but you will love yourself later. There are so many germs your baby has to fight off while building an immune system so baby needs all the help baby can get. Try keeping some of these things with you:

Maybe not as strong as Purell but you will always have it with you, it's waaaaay better than nothing.

I just love the ones you can hang on your keychain from Bed Bath & Bodyworks, so cute!

Once one tooth sprouts out, the rest will follow. My big girl is now working on her 5th tooth! And I'm so amazed By it. She still hasn't gotten have fever thanx Go however, it does bother the heck out of her, she gets into her fits and wants to bite anything insight. She is a real champ tho, she has a way of telling me when she needs her Orajel. Shell start fussing and putting her hand in her mouth and start pulling on the few teeth she already has lol, its soo funny but not funny at the same time. Sometimes she'll not feel all that well and want me to stay with her and not to leave her side at all, thats when I give her, her Orajel and pull her teething ring from out the freezer, it soothes her and she is sooo happy.

I really like the baby orajel teething swabs becuase it easy and the Orajel exits right through the Q-tip, once you break te top qtip with the pink stripes the pink orajel will flow straight to the end of the Qtip. The ones that come in the tube you can use and Qtip as well or your finger, so the swabs are much cooler because its less germs and Qtips are already included.

My mother thought it would be funny to get Nevaeh's first Dora the Explorer item, she got her a toothbrush, and she loves it and will not let me take it from her so I guess that's what she will be using. Speaking of Dora, I got my girl the "Your Baby Can Speak Spanish" DVD set with the flash cards. We will be speaking Spanish in no time at all.  My little girl is growing up so fast, she has teeth, an attitude, she knows what she wants, what she doesn't want, it's jjust amazing and it takes my breath away everyday.
